The SouthWest Georgia (SoWeGa) Music Hall of Fame is proud to announce the recipients for the 1st Annual induction into the Music Hall of Fame for Lifetime Acheivement to: Jim Baker, Billy Britt, Rocky T. Duckworth, Terry Oliver, Allen Poole, and Tim Tucker.   The SoWeGa Music Hall of Fame honored the recipients during their first annual (32 year) reunion concert for the band SmokeDream which was held at the old Sumner School Auditorium in Sumner, Georgia on March 14,2009.  The band members of SmokeDream are the first inductees into the SoWeGa Music Hall of Fame with both Andy Eason and Jimmy Hurst sharing the stage during the induction ceremony.   Andy received the Lifetime Achievement Award and  Mr. Hurst received the first Legend's Award.  

 

The SoWeGa Awards and Recognition Committee was formed by partnership between The City of Sumner and private benefactors.  The future of the Committee began by selecting the first inductees of the SoWeGa Music Hall of Fame, the band SmokeDream, as the Charter members of the Awards and Recognition Committee.

Induction into the SoWeGa Music Hall of Fame is voted on and determined by these music industry peers and area executives including, Mayor of Sumner, GA., Charlie Hall; Mrs. Bonnie Walker; Ms. Melinda Shaw Bales, and Mrs. Dona Duckworth.  

SmokeDream is proud to be a positive influence to the Music Industry and of the Music Arts and is honored to serve on the Awards and Recognition Committee in order to bring focus to area talent.
